Get ready now dear brilliant students, the Government of Brunei Darussalam has announced an ample opportunity of academic scholarship for 2019 – 2020. In Brunei Darussalam, Tenable scholarship is available for the students.
Brunei Darussalam offers the opportunity of Diplomas along with the degree programme, Undergraduate Degree and Postgraduate Master’s Degree at any one of the prestigious institutes of higher education as endorsed under:
- The University of Brunei Darussalam
- The University of Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA),
- The University of Teknologi Brunei (UTB)
- The University of Politeknik Brunei (PB).
The Eligibility criteria for the academic year inaugurates July/August 2019.
All citizens on international level are free to apply for the scholarship of Brunei Darussalam.
The ages limit of the applicant must be between 18-25 for Undergraduate and multiple Diplomas and for the Postgraduate Degree programmes the age must be 35 years old, on the 31st July 2019.
Permanent Residents of Brunei Darussalam are
not eligible to apply for the scholarship award.

3 TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
If
the application of the applicant is proved, the full listing of the terms and
conditions of the scholarship will be awarded to the applicant. An announcement
will have to be signed as per requirement for confirming understanding and
agreement to these terms and conditions upon acceptance of the scholarship.
Some common rules and regulations are as follows:
The
scholarship holders will receive following facilities and benefits of the
scholarship:
Fully funded scholarship programme for the brilliant and fortunate students.
For the international students the air-ticket from Brunei Darussalam to the native country of the applicants, would be free .
iii) A monthly personal allowance of BND$500.00;
iv) A monthly meals allowance of BND$150.00;
v) An annual book allowance of BND$600.00;
vi) Housing at the college’s residential of the University/ Polytechnic;
vii) A belonging support for shipment of the scholarship recipient’s personal effects to his country of origin/country of domicile upon completion of the programme.
viii) An inclusive insurance helps to cover the whole duration of the Scholarship. Before his travel to Brunei Darussalam scholarship the lucky recipient is asked to obtain additional insurance.
Without
the prior approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, applicants can not apply
for the other scholarships such as fellowship, loan or grant etc,
simultaneously. And this scholarship can be rejected if the recipients do not
attach any written permission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A scholarship recipient is not allowed
to bring his/her family during the tenure of the scholarship. Marriage or child
remittance is not awarded to the scholarship recipient and no accommodation
will be offered to any accompanying spouse, child or children.
During the duration of the scholarship the recipient of the scholarship is not
permitted to join any paid job in Brunei Darussalam.
A scholarship recipient requires
to:
- follow all the rules and regulations of his/her University/Polytechnic
- regard the customs, culture and official religion of Brunei Darussalam;
- observe all the laws and regulations of Brunei Darussalam;
- avoid from engaging in political activities;
- Undertake health screening in Brunei Darussalam if considered necessary by the Ministry of Foreign Affair.

How to Apply for the Scholarship?
First of all the illegible students need to download application forms from the following link:
Application forms must be fulfilled properly and inscribed by the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs or the National Focal Point for scholarships of the receptive country
of the applicant. Applications must be submitted as a security clearance
statement from their National Security Agency or Police Station (statement or report
certificate about the applicants that they are clear from any civil or criminal
charges).

The important point to be noted is that, all the application forms and supporting documents must be written in Word Document, PDF, JPG format (compressed (zipped folder). Maximum size allowed for e-mail and attachment files is 10MB)

Incomplete application forms will not be entertained.
The last date for the application of scholarship with certified copies of required certificates and documents will after 4:00 pm (Brunei time) on 28 February 2019.
Only application is not sufficient for getting the scholarship award, the applicant may be called for the interview or the written test to evaluate the proficiency of the applicant in English, Malay or Arabic language.
