Higher Education Commission (HEC) has advised all its accredited institutes to start conducting online classes without any delay and invest time on developing an online exam policy as things can go in that manner. On the same lines, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has initiated to start online classes across the province. Education Minister has informed all the higher education institutes to start conducting classes using online platforms for ensuring educational continuity.
The institutes are advised to maintain a minimum staff at offices and encourage working from home, however, SOPs shall be ensured and inspected by the education department of KP. The conventional operations of the institutes have been shut down by province as per the guidance issued by federal government regarding the closure until 15th July, 2020. Nevertheless, colleges and universities are encouraged to start their activities after 1st June, 2020.
KP has a lot of challenge in ensuring the conduct of online classes as few of the remote areas have limited internet coverage along with no or low graded smartphones and laptops. However, regulatory bodies and governments have been putting in their best efforts for continuing educational activities in Pakistan following the outbreak of deadly virus.
