An Indian government body, CBSE that looks after the education department across private and public schools have partnered with Google for the purpose of delivering blended learning experience. CBSE has its outreach to approximately 22,000 schools across the country. Google has indicated in a press statement that they are intended to spend US $ 10 Billion approximately in India over the course of next seven years.
The amount will be primarily spent on educating up to 1 million teachers with a major focus on public sector. Free services of google will be available, such as, G suite for Education, Google Classrooms and YouTube. Ultimate purpose of this engagement is to digitalize the education in India as all educational institutes of the world are closed owing to covid-19, hence, this is a big development for not only technology but education sector as well.
