The school education department has ordered immediate release of salaries of thousands of temporary teachers, which have been suspended for eight months.
According to sources, salaries have not been issued to school teachers for eight months now. Now the school education department has issued an order to pay salaries to school teachers interns. Temporary teachers will be paid salaries from the pre-approved budget.
According to the school education department, Rs 30,000 will be given to higher secondary school teachers, Rs 25,000 will be given to secondary school teachers and Rs 18,000 will be given to primary school teachers.
On the other hand, school heads were ordered to be present in spite of the local holiday of Mela Chiraghan in the city.
School heads will send pictures of dengue activities to the department. Action will be taken against school heads and focal persons who do not obey orders. Education Authority Lahore had issued a letter to school heads regarding dengue activities only yesterday.
