BISE Sargodha was one the earliest establishments made by the monitoring body out of BISE Lahore. The board was formulated in 1968 under West Pakistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance. BISE Sargodha is currently administered under Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act, 1978. The board was made operational in 1975, however, it shifted to Sargodha in its own building in the following year. The first examination was conducted the same year in 1979. BISE Sargodha covered the entire region of Faisalabad and Rawalpindi too. The bifurcations were made in 1980s’ that resulted in the emergence of BISE Faisalabad and BISE Rawalpindi.
