BISE Mirpurkhas is one of the trendsetters in the province of Sindh. Due to the location and distance of the region with Karachi, the board is being made independent since 1950s’. BISE Mirpurkhas was among the first educational boards in the country. BISE Lahore, BISE Karachi and BISE Mirpurkhas were among the boards that were established in 1950s. BISE Mirpurkhas took its first breathe in 1954, whereas, the first examination was undertaken in 1955. The far off areas in the province of Sindh were given under the control of BISE Mirpurkhas. The jurisdictions of the board include Mirpur, Sanghar and Nawabshah. At the time of its inception, the jurisdictions of the board were huge but with the establishments of other boards, the control of BISE Mirpurkhas was limited. This was helpful in managing the workload with efficient work management among the boards. The board was established with the foremost aim of sorting out the educational matters within the province of Sindh.
BISE Mirpurkhas is currently administered under Sindh Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act. All the educational boards within the province of Sindh report to the Provincial Ministry of Education and BISE Mirpurkhas is of no difference either. The board has two different streams to manage the workload of Inter and matric classes. BISE Mirpurkhas conducts a standardized exam for the grades of 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th respectively. The board has thousands of students associated with it as it is the only educational body in Mirpur, Sanghar and Nawabshah. BISE Mirpurkhas performs various functions including the issuance of certificates and NOCs, dealing with queries of students, arranging scholastic opportunities for the students and lastly, organizing sporting activities for the well-being of students.

Despite the formulation of board in earlier stages of the country and its working since last five decades, the board still is not fully automated and hence, the procedures are looked after on manual basis. In spite of managing the workload on manual basis, the board is working efficiently which is success in itself.
