The exams session begins in the month of March and continues until June. BISE Mirpurkhas was among the first educational boards in the country. BISE Lahore, BISE Karachi and BISE Mirpurkhas were among the boards that were established in 1950s. BISE Mirpurkhas took its first breathe in 1954, whereas, the first examination was undertaken in 1955. The far off areas in the province of Sindh were given under the control of BISE Mirpurkhas. The jurisdictions of the board include Mirpur, Sanghar and Nawabshah. At the time of its inception, the jurisdictions of the board were huge but with the establishments of other boards, the control of BISE Mirpurkhas was limited. This was helpful in managing the workload with efficient work management among the boards. The board was established with the foremost aim of sorting out the educational matters within the province of Sindh.
BISE Mirpurkhas is currently administered under Sindh Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act. All the educational boards within the province of Sindh report to the Provincial Ministry of Education and BISE Mirpurkhas is of no difference either. The board has two different streams to manage the workload of Inter and matric classes. BISE Mirpurkhas conducts a standardized exam for the grades of 5th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th respectively. The board has thousands of students associated with it as it is the only educational body in Mirpur, Sanghar and Nawabshah. BISE Mirpurkhas performs various functions including the issuance of certificates and NOCs, dealing with queries of students, arranging scholastic opportunities for the students and lastly, organizing sporting activities for the well-being of students.

The board is one of the developing boards within the province of Sindh, therefore, it looks towards other leading educational boards like BIEK Karachi, BISE Sukkur and BISE Hyderabad. In response to that, all the educational boards of Sindh are looking to announce a revised schedule of examination. Government of Sindh in coordination to Sindh Board has notified the general public that in case of cancellation of exams, the students will be awarded based on previous results. However, all the educational boards within Sindh have put forward their suggestions to the provincial headquarters. The reason of suggestions at this time is due to a meeting which is scheduled between all the provincial educational boards of the country.
All the provincial boards are advised to take part in an online meeting which is aimed at making a decision regarding the revised schedule of examination. Chairmen of all provincial boards will represent their respective boards. The agenda of meeting includes key points to be discussed at length. Points of discussion include the conduction protocols related to exams, the paper pattern, grading structure, way forward if further postponement is required and lastly, the possibilities of exam cancellation. The meeting will be headed by Dr. Shahzad Jiva and he announced the agenda of meeting for all the Chairmen of provincial boards. The meeting will be conducted under the banner of Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC). The final decision shall be communicated soon after the meeting to all the provincial governments for obtaining approval and making necessary preparations.
