BISE Malakand was established under Northern Western Frontier Province Board of Intermediare and Secondary Education Act of 1990, however, it was replaced with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act in 2010. The 18th amendment to the constitution of Pakistan changed the name of NWFP to KP as it was long demanded by the province itself. Before the establishment of BISE Malakand, the areas under its jurisdiction were directly controlled by BISE Peshawar. The national education commission in 1958 suggested the idea of formulating more educational boards which resulted in creation of BISE Peshawar. On similar grounds, with the increase in workload of other boards that were offshoots of BISE Peshawar, such as, BISE Mardan and BISE Swat, more boards were established in 1990s. BISE Malakand’s current jurisdictions are Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Malakand and Bajaur Agency.

BISE Malakand is working actively these days to solve out the problems faced by students, hence, they are among the first boards in the country that have initiated online services for the students. All the services which are provided by the board are now accessible online through the official website and mobile application of BISE Malakand. A pleasant news in such a crisis is that Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) which is the joint body of all provincial educational boards have called up a meeting on the conduct of exams. The Chairmen of all provincial educational boards have been sent official invitations as the meeting will be conducted online on the lines of SOPs laid by federal government. The meeting will include the decision of when to conduct exams and if the exams are postponed further then what sort of strategies shall be adopted by the board. There are different hypes regarding the examination system but the final decision shall be notified by IBCC within the coming week. We wish all the students and institutes best of luck and advise them to keep visiting our website for all the latest updates.
