Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Larkana was formulated in 1995 and is home to thousands of students. The jurisdictions of the board were earlier managed by BISE Karachi but the workload of the Karachi city itself and with the evolving of educational environment in Larkana pushed the authorities to establish a new board. The major aim of the board is to provide a standardized, transparent and fair examination for its students. The jurisdictions of BISE Larkana include 7 different districts. The areas included under it are Larkana, Kamber and Shahdad, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Dadu and Khairpur. The board is responsible for conducting annual and supplementary exams within its jurisdiction. All the public and private sector institutes within the jurisdiction are affiliated with BISE Larkana.
The academic year is started by BISE Larkana in September with exams being conducted during the months of March to June. The additional services that BISE Larkana provides is that it uploads the past papers and model papers for students. The pattern and syllabus changes after a year or two, hence, the board uploads paper for facilitation of the students and educational institutes. BISE Larkana is also responsible for issuing date sheets, result cards, degrees and mainly conducting examination. BISE Larkana conducted its first exam a year after its formulation in 1996. The board is an autonomous body and manages its expenses within its own financial budget.
