Out of one of the largest educational boards in the country are BISE Faisalabad. The board was formulated as an off-shoot of BISE Sargodha. The board was created in the year 1980 as authorities realized the importance of formulating another board. It was among the third generation of the educational boards as previously, it was managed by BISE Lahore and then BISE Sargodha. The current jurisdictions of BISE Faisalabad include Jhang, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh and Faisalabad. The first camp office of the board was in BISE Sargodha and it shifted to its own building in 1988. With a year later, BISE Faisalabad conducted its first examination in 1989.

BISE Faisalabad is one of professional educational bodies in the province. The board carries their operations within its independently managed budget. It is one of those boards that doesn’t live on any sort of aid, funding or grants from provincial governments. The sources for the board to earn are the fees and other charges collected against the provision of various services. BISE Faisalabad is performing numerous functions under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Tayybah Shaheen. The functions of the board include announcing results, issuing NOCs, result cards and certificates, provision of data of students to the government, approves and withdraws the affiliation of institutes, arrange scholarships for the students and entertain the requests of students. Whereas, the foremost aim of the board is to conduct the exams in a transparent and fair manner.

The efforts of BISE Faisalabad have yielded positive developments for the students and institutes associated with the board. The road to positivity is paved through an announcement made by Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC). IBCC is a joint body in which Chairmen of all the educational boards including Federal and AJK are member of it. The committee has taken a huge responsibility of reaching a decision regarding the conduct of exams. Final decision shall be taken based on building a consensus among the Chairmen through an online meeting. The meeting will be headed by Chairmen of Aga Khan Board and he told that agenda of the meeting has already being shared by the participants of the meeting.

Some of the sources declare that the meeting has already been conducted and recommendations by all the Chairmen have been presented to their respective provincial governments. The meeting was to be conducted in the current week, whereas, others argue that meetings are still in process. Nevertheless, few of the recommendations which can be approved include the change in grading system, revision of paper patter and lastly, eliminating the practical papers for 2020. All possible options regarding the cancellation of exams and awarding students on previous results were also discussed at length.
